Whoopi Goldberg has reacted to internet rumors claiming she is one of the high-profile names featured in Jeffrey Epstein’s flight log list.
“They said I had been on the island,” said the co-host of “View” on Thursday’s show.
“Apparently there are a lot of these kinds of sites that are … satire sites. But people don’t realize that they can be harmful.”
Before the long-awaited release of court documents naming celebrities linked to Epstein — such as Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Michael Jackson, Naomi Campbell and more — there were “fake” lists floating around the Internet that featured characters like Goldberg , part of the multimillionaire’s infamous inner circle.
One such list circulating on X, formerly known as Twitter, said Monday that “The Color Purple” co-star Joy Behar, Angelina Jolie, Barack Obama, Beyoncé, George Clooney and dozens more were allegedly found on the list. of Epstein.
However, at the time a note was added by X’s moderators stating: “This is a fake list. Epstein’s actual flight logs have not yet been made public.
The actual documents were released late Wednesday after Manhattan federal judge Loretta Preska ordered them unsealed following a since-settled defamation lawsuit filed by Virginia Roberts Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015.
Whoopi has yet to be named, but there are about 250 other court documents expected to be released in the coming days.
