The conflict between Jay Gruden and Robert Griffin III has reached DEFCON 1. “I Know Where All Your Bodies Are Buried”

Former Washington Commanders head coach Jay Gruden stood up for Jalen Hurts while he watched the Philadelphia Eagles collapse, only to be humiliated by his old quarterback, Robert Griffin III. As a result, the two said some really offensive things to each other.

RG III — RG III? went on camera to further clarify how, following a press conference, his statements were taken out of context and interpreted as a slight against his teammates. RG3 is easier to type, so I’m rolling with that from now on. Then, at a team meeting, Gruden called him out and used it as leverage against him. When Griffin addressed the media, Gruden also abandoned him.

Since the RG3-Gruden feud was extensively discussed in the previous post, I’ll simply briefly mention that at one point, Gruden had his quarterback play scout team safety during practice. That is really offensive, foolish, and excessive for a coach to do.

Imagine how horrible things must have been behind the scenes if Gruden felt the need to pull off a trick like that. All of that combined with the toxic ownership reign of Dan Snyder resulted in a real sh*t sandwich in Washington.

I frequently ponder what would have happened if RG3 hadn’t blown up his knee during his rookie postseason. Or if the team ever had the sense to fire Snyder sooner and/or keep any of the many outstanding offensive coaches they had on staff
