He sat by the window and ordered a set lunch. He just wanted to take in the view since, for the first time in a long time, he didn’t have a hundred things to do. However, he was very moved by the two kids who were licking their lips while watching others eat, and he made the decision to feed them.
The two small toddlers trailed behind the adult man. Grinning, he offered them a menu and inquired what they would like to eat. Puzzled, they put down the menu and gestured to the meal he had placed his own order for. The man requested two more of the same after phoning the waiter.
The brother and sister looked at each other and then began to taste the soup, slowly at first, as if they were afraid of something, and then with all their might. For dessert, he ordered them ice cream. And then the kids went home, and the man ordered himself some more coffee, feeling that he deserved it today because he had done something good.
Soon the waiter brought him the bill, and he was stunned to see a note instead of the usual numbers:
“Every one can’t be saved! Today, however, you were able to save two! That’s enough!”
The man stared at the note for a long time, then took it with him. Now he had no doubt that good things also boomerang back.
