The neighbors hated the color of my house and repainted it while I was away — I was angry and took revenge.

After a two-week trip, Victoria was horrified to discover that her vibrant yellow house, lovingly painted by her late husband, had been painted over gray by her neighbors, the Davises. Known for their dislike of the bright color of their house, they had taken matters into their own hands while she was away. Victoria confronted the Davises, but they denied everything.

Her neighbor, Mr. Thompson, confirmed that the painting over had been done using a fake work order in the Davises’ names. Victoria was furious, feeling that her neighbors had erased the memory of her husband with a “bucket of paint.” She stormed into the painting company’s office and demanded answers.

The manager, Gary, was apologetic, explaining, “We thought it was their house.” Victoria insisted on suing, and the painting company agreed to cooperate. In court, the painting company’s workers testified against the Davises. The judge found the Davises guilty of fraud and criminal damage and ordered them to repaint the house yellow and pay all costs, including court costs.

Outside the courthouse, Mrs. Davis hissed, “I hope you’re happy now.” Victoria smiled sweetly and replied, “I will be when my house is YELLOW again!” Victoria’s determination to stand firm paid off, restoring both the color of her house and her peace of mind.
